The Fishermen & the Priestess This is a great album, made greater by the fact that it was recorded straight to a 4-track! Favorite track: Afraid.

Rain 03:27
I used to be a man about town
 sleeping in doorways all around
I used to be a scoundrel
at least that's what I heard
but I don't recall
 everything that occurred CHORUS:
There was a storm I couldn't sleep through
lightning flash vivid blue
thunder in my head like a train
my heart is filling up with rain I used to be the talk of the town
I could not restrain the words I found
 the ocean one day returns
 all things to the shore
 so now I'm back to
where I was before If I told you lies in our debates
It's so hard to keep things straight
every time I tell my story
 the story overtakes
but now I wanna say I'm sorry
 for every mistake

Angel 03:15
She's blinding in her light she burns like paradise eternity comes at a price she has regrets, but she's not contrite CHORUS: Food for the soul I can never forget her I loved her so but never knew how to tell her She tastes like heaven lives on angel food cake she's my obsession she's totally opaque BRIDGE: One day she walked away I didn't know what to do if you ever had a heart you would have loved her too She sings like an angel breathes celestial light her memory rocks me to sleep on the coldest nights

we tried so hard tried so hard to wait we said we'll do we'll do what it takes they say fools rush in and that is trun fools rush in from the time we begin CHORUS: Now it's time, now it's time I got nothing to prove Now it's time, now it's time got nothing to lose Now it's time, now it's time it's time to move all I got is a question for you darkness falls darkness falls again we sit in judgement oh we condemn oh we know we're right we double down tonight but we all have to look in the mirror in the end so now the time has come our time is here hold my hand let's silence the fear all we want is to have our say but so many obstacles in the way

Afraid 03:18
I build my walls all around a maze dug deep under the ground I build a dusty, damp, and quiet space this is my own hell that I embrace CHORUS: we all afraid of going to hell maybe we all just build it ourselves if there's no devil we can make our own set him up on his little throne his smile is mirthful and malformed polishing up his twisted horns BRIDGE I'm drinking whisky tonight a voice in my head says that's alright the devil says when tomorrow comes the future will look so bright The devil has his talking points for Damnation, Inc. he says eternal suffering not as bad as people think it only hurts a little bit in eternity it's just a little prick

about

These are some of my favorite songs I wrote in 2020. Recorded quickly to a 4-track cassette recorder. There are mistakes. There is distortion. There are some warbly bits where 40-year-old machinery was not running quite consistently.

It was fun. No undo. No polishing, no editing.
